Peer Play Therapy Consult Group with Chessie Snider

Monthly Virtual Washington State Play Therapy Peer Consult Group with Chessie Snider.

Please join us every 1st Tuesday of the month at 12pm PT. If you're a Child-Centered Play Therapist, Synergetic Play Therapist, TF-CBT Therapist, EMDR therapist, or Child-Parent Relationship Therapist or other modality, this is for us.

Grounded in Association for Play Therapy (APT) principles, developmental responsiveness, and relationship-centered practice, this circle supports clinicians in thinking together about their work with children, families, and systems. Participants are invited to bring real clinical questions, play process observations, case conceptualizations, countertransference experiences, and ethical considerations within a respectful, non-evaluative peer container.

Why Peer Consultation in Play Therapy?

In alignment with APT values, peer consultation supports:

  • Ongoing clinical reflection grounded in play therapy theory and modalities

  • Developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care

  • Learning from the diverse training backgrounds and lived experiences of peers

  • Integration of theory, play process, therapist use of self, and intuition

  • Both emerging and experienced play therapists navigating complexity and growth

These circles are inspired by a simple truth: sometimes you just need to get to somebody. Having a predictable, relational space to land each month supports attunement, reduces professional isolation, and helps sustain the therapist’s capacity for presence, playfulness, and regulation in the work.

Container

We meet virtually on the First Tuesday of each month at 12:00pm PT

This group is open to Shelterwood members only.

Participants may attend regularly or drop in as needed. RSVP is requested so we can prepare to hold the space with care. Participants are asked to honor confidentiality and arrive with curiosity and respect for peer learning.

Please note: This group does not provide supervision and does not count toward APT, licensure, or credentialing supervision or consultation hour requirements.

Exchange

This peer consultation circle is offered free of charge to Shelterwood members, reflecting our belief that relational support and thoughtful clinical companionship are essential to ethical, sustainable play therapy practice.
