Skillshare Workshop: CNM & Polyamory Affirming Therapy

CNM & Polyamory Affirming Therapy with Kit Weathers, LMFT

The Collective Skillshare is a dynamic lunch-and-learn style workshop series designed to foster ongoing professional development and community connection.

This month, we have the pleasure of learning from and with fellow member Kit Weathers.

This workshop is for practitioners who want to increase their skills in affirming and supporting their consensually non-monogamous (CNM) and polyamorous clients. This workshop is best suited for folks who already have a foundational understanding of what CNM/Polyamory is and are ready to explore an affirmative and nuanced approach to addressing common concerns for CNM clients, with a focus on how whiteness, class privilege, and education influence norms in CNM communities, how CNM intersects with other identities and positionalities, and common clinical presentations for both individual and relationship/couples clients.

Through this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize potential biases and assumptions that may be harmful to CNM clients

  • Identify common problems that CNM clients may face, and how these may present in individual or couples therapy

  • Name 3 applications for CNM-affirming care
