Paula MacCormac, MA, LMHC, PMH-C
Psychotherapist, Perinatal Mental Health Professional
(she/her)
As a clinician, I see therapy as a place to slow down, make sense of what feels heavy, and come into a more honest relationship with yourself. My goal is to offer a space that feels steady, thoughtful, and deeply human—one where you do not have to work so hard to hold everything together on your own. I want our work to help you better understand your patterns, reconnect with your own resourcefulness, and move through life with more clarity, intention, and self-trust.
As a person, so much of what led me to this work has been shaped by my own lived experience. Moving to the United States at 18 gave me a firsthand understanding of how disorienting it can be to adapt to a new culture while trying to hold onto yourself. As a multiracial immigrant, adult Third Culture Kid, and bilingual person, I know the complexity of navigating identity, belonging, assimilation, and the feeling of living between worlds. Those experiences continue to shape how I relate to people, how I understand suffering, and how I hold space in therapy.
My work is also informed by the training I have pursued along the way. I sought additional certification in perinatal mental health to deepen my support for those navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as a deeper avenue for healing and self-rediscovery. More broadly, my practice sits at the intersection of lived experience, relational depth, and clinical training. I draw from a range of modalities, with an emphasis on attachment-based and emotion-focused work, and I always aim to meet you where you are rather than force a one-size-fits-all approach.
I work with adults navigating identity, belonging, relationships, grief, life transitions, and the many ways we can become disconnected from ourselves. I am especially passionate about supporting immigrants, adult TCKs, multiracial individuals, women, and those moving through perinatal experiences, relational rupture, or a deeper process of healing and change. If you are ready to understand what keeps getting in the way—whether in love, family, work, or your relationship with yourself—this is a place to begin.
