Kick Off A New Season with Connection, Inspiration, & Renewed Energy

Let’s begin this new season of learning and community together! Shelterwood practitioner members are invited to come together to mark the shift into fall, reconnect with familiar faces, and connect with new ones.

Together we will:

• Gather to mark the shift into fall and connect with fellow members

• Share vision and intentions for our work in the year to come

• Learn more about this year’s learning canopy and community rhythms

• Partake in facilitated conversations on a variety of topics

• Learn to make the most out of your Shelterwood membership

• Get a fresh professional headshot by Janette Casolary (see some of the amazing photos from year’s past below!)

We’ll have facilitated conversations held in person with an option to join via zoom:

• 11:00-11:30 Leslie Jensen - Advanced Trainings: Working with Relationships

  • Our advanced trainings series aims for practitioners to get to know what trainings exist, what your peers have found valuable, and what they would recommend (or not recommend). In Working with Relationships, Leslie Jensen brings her experience working as an AASECT approved Sex Therapist with couples and other relationship constellations utilizing the Developmental Model, and will open a conversation to discuss the Developmental Model and other advanced trainings for relationship and sex therapy.

• 11:45-12:15 Kari Brunson Wright - Aligning Finances with your Values

  • Kari Brunson Wright leads our Generative Business Coaching Container and is facilitating a discussion today on how we relate to finances. Some topics that might be explored: How do we choose the fees we set? How do we make our work sustainable financially without feeling like we are being extractive? How are we orienting around sliding scale or pro bono work? What are less traditional ways that people have made their income as practitioners?

  12:30-1:00P Kristin Boscaljon - Expanding your Practice

  • Sometimes we can feel stuck in our practices, especially when we have a license and have built a practice dedicated to a certain type of work. Kristin Boscaljon asks the question: how do we expand and diversify our work? Hear ideas, share rumors, and question what else is out there. 

  1:15-1:45P Angelica De Anda - Advanced Trainings: Body Based Approaches to Working with Trauma

  • Our advanced trainings series aims for practitioners to get to know what trainings exist, what your peers have found valuable, and what they would recommend (or not recommend). In Body Based Approaches to Working with Trauma, Angelica De Anda brings her experience in EMDR, and will open a conversation to discuss EMDR and other advanced trainings.

  2-2:30 Andrew Fontana - Conversing with your Clinical Self

  • What is it like to sit with the self who sits with others? In this field, we often spend a lot time doing the work and a little time reflecting on the work we are doing. Join Andrew Fontana in a conversation to bring into more explicit awareness the theory, memories, and longings that shape your practice, from what drew you to this work, to who shows up in session.

Container

We will gather in The Apothecary at Shelterwood Collective in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.

The program will begin at 10:30 with a welcome forum. At 11 o’clock we’ll shift into a dynamic space where you’ll have the opportunity to shift into smaller learning spaces, receive coaching/advising, and get a new headshot.

We will reach out to folks who RSVP prior to the gathering to sign up for a specific time slot for your headshot.

Members joining from a distance are invited to join in virtually for the facilitated conversations at 11:00-11:30, 11:45-12:15, 12:30-1:00, 1:15-1:45 and 2:00-2:30. Zoom link will be sent out to virtual RSVP’s.
