Neurodivergent Affirming Kid & Teen Therapists' Peer Consult Group

Monthly Virtual Neurodivergent Affirming Kid & Teen Therapists' Peer Consult Group with Chessie Snider & Jen John

Please join us every 4th Friday of the month at 1:00pm PT for a peer consultation space intentionally designed for child and family mental health clinicians who identify as neurodivergent and/or are committed to neurodivergent-affirming care.

Grounded in a neurodivergent-affirming framework, this group centers awareness, respect, and celebration of diverse ways of being. Together, we explore clinical work through a lens that prioritizes autonomy, nervous system safety, collaborative relationships, and harm reduction. This space invites thoughtful reflection, shared learning, and connection in a non-pathologizing, supportive peer environment.

Why Neurodivergent-Affirming Peer Consultation?

In alignment with neurodiversity-affirming values, this consultation space supports:

  • Deepening understanding of neurodivergent profiles and diverse nervous systems

  • Exploring clinical work through an affirming, non-pathologizing lens

  • Integrating low-demand, autonomy-supportive, and collaborative approaches

  • Reflecting on clinical challenges, questions, and case material without judgment

  • Learning from the lived experience, insight, and perspectives of peers

This group is rooted in the belief that clinicians benefit from spaces where authenticity, flexibility, and relational safety are prioritized. Having a consistent, supportive place to land each month can reduce professional isolation and sustain capacity for presence, attunement, and care in the work.

Who This Is For

  • Child and family therapists (licensed or pre-licensed)

  • Neurodivergent clinicians and/or those committed to affirming neurodivergent clients

  • Practitioners curious about or actively working with neurodivergent populations

Group Culture

In alignment with neurodivergent-informed principles, this space prioritizes:

  • Choice and flexibility in participation

  • Respect for diverse communication and processing styles

  • Reduced performance pressure and “shoulds”

  • Relational safety, consent, and mutual care

Chessie Rebecca Snider

LMHCa, M.Ed.

Chessie has been working with families since they were fourteen years old. They grew up in a large family with five siblings and lots of foster siblings. It was a multiracial, transcontinental, adoptive household. They have viewed life through a systemic lens since before they knew that terminology. They’ve been helping children for nearly two decades. They have worked in pediatric research at Seattle Children's Hospital for 8 years, early childhood education for 20 years, the local crisis line for 5 years, in partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and residential treatment for 2 years. Chessie volunteers in their community with various social justice-oriented organizations.

Jen John

M.Ed, LMHC

Jen has worked with children, teens, adults and families in various capacities for over a decade. Jen has a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Seattle Pacific University. Jen chose to become a therapist after working as a school counselor and seeing the intense need for comprehensive mental health support in an oppressive system. Jen left feeling frustrated with the lack of support specifically for our neurodivergent kiddos who were not being served equitably.
