The Clinic: Psychoanalytic Passions with D. Michael Louderback, LMHC

  • Virtual & In Person 108 South Jackson Street, Suite 206 Seattle, WA, 98104 United States (map)

The Clinic

Deepen your practice at The Clinic, a series of specialized workshops designed to hone your skills and capacity as a practitioner. Inspired by the focused training methods used in sports clinics, these sessions are facilitated by seasoned practitioners who offer teaching on their modality of focus, bring these concepts to life with a live session with a client volunteer, and hold space for integration through honest discussion and group consultation.

Each clinic will focus on an approach to the work, providing you with advanced techniques, practical tools, and new perspectives to integrate into your work. Whether you’re looking to refine your approach, deepen your capacity to drop into the human experience of this work, or renew your imagination for what’s possible in the in between, these clinics offer a unique opportunity for growth and connection.

These learning spaces are human, messy, playful, and inspiring. We launched this series in our 2024-25 learning canopy and we’re so excited to return with season two!

Psychoanalytic Passions

Come get immersed into foundational psychoanalytic passions where we will deepen ways of paying attention and working with the complexity of the human experience. This clinic will guide you through three core values and passions of a psychoanalytic mindset: from saying everything possible through free association to learning how cure is facilitated through love for both your patient and yourself in the therapeutic process.

What to Expect:

  • Expert-led clinics with a focus on real-time observation and practical application

  • In-depth exploration of specialized topics

  • Opportunities for discussion, case studies, and peer learning

  • A supportive environment for professional growth and skill enhancement

  • 10:40-10:45 — Break

  • 10:45-11:25 — Demonstration
“Demoing” a session with someone in the group (we can ask for a volunteer in advance

  • 11:25-11:30 — Break

  • 11:30-12:00 — Discussion & Consultation
This is not a time to comment on the “client’s process,” but to ask questions about the

help answer questions if they want to.

Feedback Questionnaire

We’re required to send out a questionnaire following each clinic to meet the requirements of NASW, the body that accredits our CEUs. Here is a link to our feedback form template, I’d love to keep this form consistent so we can see feedback across the learning arch of the year. Happy to make edits to make this a useful tool for all of us!

D. Michael Louderback

Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor & Educator

My name is Michael (he/him.) I'm a passionate and eclectic psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice for thirteen years, splitting time between supervising and practicing. I'm a believer that most of our personhood is unknown and, therefore, unconscious. With the help of various theories and approaches and philosophies, as therapists, we help our people make what they can out of trying to get to know themselves a little deeper and a little better. I have been privileged to sit with a wide variety of different human beings in my time—older and younger, artistic and professional, straight and transgender and queer, BIPOC and immigrant and emigrant—and am committed to forever learn alongside and learn from whomever sits across from me. My niches are supervision, narcissism, shame, and queer issues, as well as ferocious reading and writing.
