Drawing for Dreams

  • The Apothecary at Shelterwood Collective 108 South Jackson Street Seattle United States (map)

Are you a dreamer?

Seeking answers to the mysterious realm of dreaming we are often met with externalized or outdated definitions of dream symbolism. This art-based approach brings your feelings, references, and basically YOU to the forefront of interpreting your own dream in a fun and creative group setting.

Beginning with a meditation on a poignant or recurring dream, your guide Angie will then lead you through her original art therapy protocol for discovering layers of meaning behind your nighttime visions. We will then have an opportunity to reflect, discuss, and search for clues in these seeds of wisdom from the unconscious.

Spend an evening searching within and perhaps we find new ways to navigate the wildness of the outside world together.

Logistics

We will meet in the Apothecary and gather around our communal table. Bring a writing utensil and paper to take notes if you desire.

Exchange

$11-22 sliding scale. If cost is a barrier, please send us a note.

Angela Amos

Raised by a new age mom attending dream interpretation and astrology classes, dreams were a part of everyday conversation and reflection. Through this integrative self-study I developed my own artistic relationship with dream scenes and discovered enlightening new ways to access unconscious emotive information. Now an art therapy graduate student at Antioch University and counseling resident at Shelterwood Collective, I incorporate a Jungian depth perspective and person-centered phenomenological lens as I share my own art-based dream interpretation method. Artwork from my dream-scapes and participant work from groups I have led are available for viewing on Instagram: @DrawingFromDreams
