Psychotherapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker

(he/him)

As a therapist, I am familiar with feeling unsatisfied with the status quo of life or feeling like you need a change. I offer my clients curiosity, a non-judgement stance, and patience to discover pathways to change. I consider my clients the experts of their lives and their history, working with them to create therapeutic goals together.  I have experience working with adults and teens managing life transitions, anxiety, stress, depression, grief + loss, relationship issues, self esteem issues, cancer, and chronic illness, among other issues.

Communication issues can arise when we have a hard time hearing or seeing each other’s wounds or problems. These issues can either be between people or internally – between different parts of ourselves. I work with my clients to find healing through exploring communication channels that have been closed off or strained.

My passion is to help people understand themselves and others in their lives. I can support clients searching for greater self-understanding, connection with those around them, and belief in their ability to manage tougher emotions.

Trained as a clinical social worker, I have a social and racial justice perspective and consider how larger societal forces might be affecting the individual and the family system. I grew up white and culturally Jewish in one of the most diverse counties in the country – I know how uniquely impacted each of us can be by our identities, cultural upbringings, and early childhood experiences.

I received my Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work. Before joining Shelterwood, I provided therapy to cancer patients, their loved ones, and caregivers while they experienced treatment, grief, and loss.
