Psychotherapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker

(he/him)

As a therapist, I am familiar with feeling unsatisfied with the status quo of life or feeling like you need a change. I offer my clients curiosity, a non-judgement stance, and patience to discover pathways to change. I view my clients as the experts of their lives and their history, working with them to create therapeutic goals together.  I have experience working with individuals managing life transitions, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, grief, loss, paranoia, and other forms of significant change and distress.

Communication issues can arise when we have a hard time hearing or seeing each other’s wounds or problems. These issues can either be between people or internally – between different parts of ourselves. I work with my clients to find healing through exploring communication channels that have been closed off or strained.

My passion is to help people understand themselves and each other. I understand how to support clients searching for a greater sense of self-understanding, connection with those around them, and belief in their ability to manage tougher emotions.

Trained as a clinical social worker, I have a social justice perspective and consider how larger societal forces might be affecting the individual and the family system. I grew up white and Jewish in one of the most diverse counties in the country – I know how uniquely impacted each of us can be by our identities, cultural upbringings, and early childhood experiences.

I received my Master of Clinical Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work. Before joining Shelterwood, I was a counselor at Cancer Lifeline, a nonprofit that provides services for individuals, couples, and families impacted by cancer. I supported cancer patients, their loved ones, and caregivers through diagnosis, treatment, grief, and loss.
