Psychotherapist

Hi! I’m Kristy (she/her) - mom, partner, storyteller, healer, marriage and family therapist associate. This page is a glimpse of what you will get in the therapy room. I’m warm, inviting, I think sort of funny (that’s on you to decide), and I deeply, deeply care for the clients that enter my room. I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together.

What you probably want to know is…

  • What inspires me to work with clients around anxiety, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and couples concerns?

  • Do I know what I’m doing?

My clients are the best people to work with; they are just sick of being unhappy and ready to make the needed changes. Yes, I specialize in therapy for men but everyone 18+ is welcome in my practice.

I love working with clients with anxiety, stress, and family-of-origin struggles because I’ve been there. It’s familiar. I get it. I know those pits of despair and uncertain feelings, and I know how to make them more manageable. I chose to work with men because I see that they are unheard in some of the spaces that matter most.

I am here with you and for you. I’ll hold a safe space for growth and exploration all while I call you on your stuff. We’ll probably talk about some painful things, and we’ll probably laugh some, too. If you cry, I’ll cry with you. Therapy should be a soft landing space to explore, and I’m happy to create that for you.

To answer the second question: Yeah, I know what I'm doing AND again, not a perfect human, so I am always learning and growing. That’s one of the beautiful parts of life. Being a therapist is my passion, and I’m so mad I didn’t find this career sooner. I love what I do, and I would like to think that I’m freakin good. Plus, I constantly educate myself to continually grow for you. As my friends say, “Kristy, always a learner, never an earner” lols. Thanks guys. Okay, for theories, I use a collaborative approach and utilize IFS, Somatic Experience, Narrative EFT, and Gottman.

If you’re interested in resume stuff and where I went to school you can see that on my website! But at a quick glance:
MFA: Columbia University
MA: Antioch University
Additional Training: A sh*t ton (see website)

I’m so excited to meet you and cannot wait to walk alongside you during this healing. I offer a free consultation if that interests you; please reach out!
