Matt McMillon, LMFTA
Psychotherapist
(he/him)
I am an individual, couples, and family therapist working in the Seattle area at Sound Refuge Therapy. My aim is to provide a safe and grounding space for growing, exploring, and healing in your relationships and within yourself. I use evidenced based and trauma informed care that honors your identity and experiences. As we work together, I hope to encourage, challenge, and provide the tools for your own journey of change.
My approach to therapy is built on the understanding that we are people in need of connection, trust, and safety. I draw from a number of clinical approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I specialize in grief, betrayal trauma, and topics related to sexuality.
My work and training has been primarily with couples and individuals navigating a range of experiences including grief, betrayal trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and self-worth. I recognize that each person is a complex web of experiences and identities, all of which I am committed to honoring and exploring with you.
