Michelle Jones, MA, LMHC, PMH-C
Perinatal Psychotherapist and Matrescence Groups Facilitator
(she/her)
Are you a new mother who is juggling life with young kids? Are you just now coming up for air after the complex newborn months? Are you yearning to get reoriented? The fact that you’re here highlights that you are both suffering deeply and deeply resourceful. I believe you are wiser than you know, and I trust that with some support, you can reconnect to your deep knowing. I would be honored to partner with you in discovering what is no longer serving you and exploring subtle shifts in how you want to relate to yourself and others. Even though your outside world may not change, your experience can be different. You can flourish.
I love working with women, who are somewhere on their journey of becoming a mother and needing to process all the emotional and relational complexities that bubble up in the meantime. My sweet spot is supporting mothers of young children in the months after postpartum supports taper off, and mothers are grappling with who they are and what they need now.
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. I earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in 2019. I have received advanced training and mentorship in narrative therapy, neurodiversity, and trauma-informed care. I am a relational psychotherapist and my approach is informed by attachment, Emotion focused, family systems, and psychodynamic theories. In session, I utilize somatic and trauma-informed practices and I work from a strength-based and social justice framework.
I offer relational psychotherapy for individual adults who are navigating the “now what?” motherhood. Also, I partner with a perinatal yoga teacher to co-facilitate periodic restorative, process groups for mothers of young children around the changes to their bodies, relationships, and identities. If you're ready for support, I'd be glad to help!
