Sophia Evans, LMHC
Mental Health Counselor
(she/her)
I work with adolescents, teens, and young adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are and how they fit in the world. Many are navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, identity exploration, and challenges in relationships and family dynamics. They’re often looking for a space where they can feel understood, supported, and able to make sense of their inner experiences without judgment.
I believe healing happens through connection—both with others and within ourselves. I view each person as multidimensional, shaped by their experiences, environments, and relationships. Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors often develop as ways to protect ourselves and create safety, interacting within our attachment patterns and relationships. Our minds and bodies are always trying to do the best they can to keep us safe, even when those strategies no longer serve us fully.
Integration begins when we explore these patterns in a safe, nonjudgmental space, fostering self-compassion, understanding, and personal growth. My approach is grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and Internal Family Systems, and incorporates a mind-body perspective to notice how somatic experiences support insight and self-awareness. I also work from an LGBTQIA+ affirming lens, supporting clients of all identities to feel seen and respected.
I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel safe to be your authentic self. Therapy unfolds at your pace, and we move only as far and as deep as feels safe for you.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University and have experience across a range of settings, including outdoor and experiential therapy, outpatient counseling, and crisis response for 911 calls. This background allows me to support clients navigating trauma, attachment challenges, and high-stress experiences. At the core of my work is the belief that everyone deserves a space to feel seen, understood, and supported. My role is to walk alongside you as you explore who you are, build self-trust, and move toward meaningful, lasting growth.
