Angela Payne, LMHC
Psychotherapist, Certified Lifespan Integration Therapist, Mental Health Cleric
(she/her/hers)
I believe therapy works.
Life can absolutely get so much better. It can be hard to know how to ‘human’ when faced with the realities of our existence, but you don’t have to search for the answers alone. You are not alone- many people are struggling to find something that will restore a sense of self, of belonging, purpose, and connection. I am here to support you in finding and integrating those missing pieces of your life and self.
When you work with me, we will combine your knowledge of yourself and my expertise in my field to create a path to the life and relationships you have been searching for. I offer a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space where together, we can revisit your past, change your present, and create your best future.
My approach is direct, conversational, and real. No AI here. I challenge my clients to become aware of patterns, limiting beliefs, and internalized narratives, because it is only when we are aware of these that we can start to change them. We can stay in the humanistic lane, but I welcome your connection to things greater than us to also be a guide in our work together. Inclusive and Welcoming to All.
About me: I graduated with a BA in medieval history and so promptly became a full-time server and bartender, eventually working in fine dining for several years. Looking for more, I sold all my possessions and moved abroad, first to Prague, and then to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam, where my work and experiences lead me to the field of psychotherapy.
I returned to the US to complete my Master’s Degree in Seattle, WA. While in Seattle, I have volunteered with a shelter for unhoused young people and with Crisis Connections, a suicide and crisis hotline. I previously worked at a community mental health agency where I facilitated LGBTQ support groups and Art for Coping support groups, as well working with clients individually. I started my own private practice in November 2021.Outside of my role as a counselor & coach, I am an animal lover who loves sci-fi and fantasy, cooking, and traveling as much as possible.
