Mental Health Counselor

(she/they)

Living through one unprecedented time after another is dysregulating to say the least. Learning to take care of yourself and exist in a world that values overproduction and achievement is challenging. I enjoy working with Neurodivergent people (my clients are ADHD, Autistic or AuDHD) who are seeking to understand their lives in context, process past experiences and explore how they can nurture their nature. In conjunction with Neurodivergence, many of my clients struggle with the impacts of chronic trauma and stress that add to the challenges of navigating day-to-day life.

I use an eclectic approach to therapy based on the individual needs of each of my clients. At my core, I seek to practice in a liberatory, anti-oppressive way. Attachment theory is at the heart of my work as well as a developmental approach. I have been studying embodied neuroscience and am passionate about incorporating the lessons I learn in my sessions. My central practice is rooted in Lifespan Integration (LI). LI is a gentle, body-based modality grounded in systems theory. It is designed to help process trauma and update outdated defense strategies, while supporting both the body and mind's natural ability to self-organize, adapt, and change.

I show up as myself in my sessions and groups, and I hope that you feel comfortable showing up with all your parts and quirks, too. Remember, healing and knowing ourselves is a lifelong journey; the practice is the process. We all go through seasons, just like any other part of nature. It would be unreasonable to think that a Dahlia will bloom all year, that Deciduous trees will keep their leaves through winter, or that rotting fruit does not need composting. If we get the opportunity to work together, I will invite you to consider the cyclical nature of life and the season you are currently in.

As a late-in-life diagnosed Neurodivergent person living with chronic illness, I am familiar with some of the struggles that come with navigating a world that often feels like a barrage on the senses. I am interested in systems from the micro to the macro, and the interplay and emergence of constant connections, in a world of relations. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Gender Studies. I have worked in asylum law, refugee resettlement, international education, and environmental consulting. I received my Master's of Education in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health and had the privilege of spending both my practicum and internship at Chief Leschi Puyallup Tribal School.  In my free time, I enjoy making stained glass mosaics, spending time with my plant babies, and reading anything by Octavia Butler.
