Maddy Burton, MA, LMHCA
Mental Health Counselor
I believe secure relationships can create positive change. I encourage authenticity and growth through the open communication that therapy makes possible where I aim to create a space that is emotionally supportive, safe, and genuine. I hope to help people challenge shame and approach life’s difficulties and goals from a place of self-compassion and empowerment. I also believe in the importance of affirming the social context of people’s experiences.
My path to becoming a therapist began through my own experience in therapy. From there I learned extensively in the mental health field as a case manager, receptionist, and trainee.
I draw from motivational interviewing, psychodynamic approaches, narrative therapy, person-centered approaches, and bottom up approaches like EFT to support clients as a therapist and advocate and continue to learn in the field.
