Psychotherapist, Coach

(she/her)

Awareness is the first step toward freedom.

Many of the women I work with in midlife appear capable, thoughtful, and steady on the outside. They have spent years caring for others, building careers, holding families together, adapting, achieving, and surviving. Yet internally, many feel exhausted, anxious, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how they drifted so far from who they truly are.

Midlife has a way of bringing buried things to the surface.

Hormonal shifts, changing family dynamics, burnout, grief, evolving relationships, caregiving, empty nesting, career questions, religious deconstruction, or years of chronic stress can create an unsettling sense that the life that once fit no longer does. Many women begin asking deeper questions:
Who am I now?
What do I actually want?
Why can’t I keep pushing through the way I used to?

You may notice:

  • feeling emotionally exhausted, numb, or disconnected from yourself

  • carrying shame, self-doubt, or a relentless inner critic

  • anxiety, overwhelm, or difficulty calming your nervous system

  • questioning your identity, purpose, relationships, career, or faith

  • repeating patterns in relationships or behaviors even when you want change

  • struggling with boundaries, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or over-functioning

  • feeling stuck between who you have been and who you are becoming

Often, these patterns were not weaknesses. They were adaptations. Survival strategies developed over years of navigating stress, expectations, relational wounds, trauma, or environments where authenticity did not always feel safe.

At Five Oaks Counseling, I take inspiration from the oak tree. Growth begins quietly, like an acorn planted in the soil. Beneath the surface, roots are forming. Over time, challenge, tension, care, and nurturing create strength, resilience, and the capacity to weather storms without losing yourself.

Therapy can be that same process.

My work is helping women in midlife untangle the stories, nervous system patterns, and relational dynamics that no longer serve them so they can reconnect with themselves in more grounded, authentic ways. Using a narrative-focused, trauma-informed approach, we explore how your experiences have shaped your identity, relationships, body, beliefs, and sense of self with compassion rather than shame.

I specialize in working with women navigating burnout, perfectionism, codependency, religious trauma, emotionally harmful relationships, identity shifts, and nervous system exhaustion. Clients often describe our work as both deeply reflective and practical: creating insight into longstanding patterns while also building tools for real change, regulation, boundaries, and self-trust.

Together, we create space to explore honestly, question old narratives, reconnect with your voice, and build relationships rooted in clarity, authenticity, and connection.

You do not have to keep performing your way through life alone.

Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about returning to yourself.

And I will support you on that journey.
